Black Future ’88

Black Future ’88 is a 2D roguelike/action shooter in the synthpunk genre. Climb a shifting tower to kill its maddened master before… your heart explodes. Shoot, hack, dash, and master skills to defeat waves of deadly traps, killer robots, and giant overseers in an alternate 1988.

The world is shaking from a nuclear cataclysm, led by Duncan, the architect of the tower. He dropped the first bomb in the summer of 1988, and by December there were too many to count. After that, we stopped counting time, so for us it is still 1988. Most of the survivors of the first attack will die in the deadly floods that followed. These are the times after: there are no months or weeks, only minutes between you and death.

Take on the role of one of the survivors and hack your way to the top of the tower to deal with the architect and stop the endless rain of nuclear bombs. Climb to die. Die to survive.

• Deadly Ascent: Climb the ever-changing tower and fight for survival, avoiding fire, lasers and other dangers.
• Synthpunk World: Find yourself in a unique retro-cyberpunk dystopia and break through 5 different areas, each of which hides its own challenges and dangers.
• The Choice is Yours: Play as one of 5 characters. Each of them has unique advantages and disadvantages.
• Destroy Friendships: Test your wits and reflexes with a friend in a unique local co-op mode.
• Slay Overseers: Take on unique bosses, each guarding their own territory.
• Smoke Machines and Laser Beams: Bring a cannon and a laser sword to the fray. Wield 50 unique weapons, each with its own unique abilities.
• Adapt to Survive: Choosing and combining 30 different buffs and curses is the only way to survive when everything, including your heart, is trying to kill you.
• Daily Challenges: Complete daily challenges and compare your results with other players on the leaderboard. Fight not only for survival, but for supremacy!
• Ear Honey: An original electronic soundtrack awaits you. Death has never sounded so sweet.
