Game description

In Ziggurat, players are offered to try on the mantle of a battle mage. More precisely, one of the students claiming the honorary title. The final exam is a foray into a dangerous labyrinth teeming with traps and various monsters. Few survive, and only the best of the best will be able to pass the test to the end. Despite the modern picture and the currently fashionable roguelike elements (maps are randomly generated, and our hero gains experience and chooses one of the “perks” at each level), Ziggurat is surprisingly “old school”. The authors do not hide the fact that they are making an old-school game, and such projects as Hexen and Heretic served as a source of inspiration. At the same time, our arsenal can contain four types of weapons: a puny magic wand like Harry Potter’s, a spell, a staff, and alchemical explosives. “The unit” reloads automatically, but mana for the more powerful “guns” will have to be knocked out of enemies and chests. And the devices here work in the usual way – spell = “shotgun”, staff = “machine gun”, etc. Success depends most on the player’s skills – it’s surprising to see a shooter in 2014 without health regeneration, and also requiring constant movement and dodging. The opponents are no pushovers either – many of them are trained to shoot with a lead, so endlessly running sideways in one direction will not work.
