The minor campaign in East Africa between 1914 and 1918 cost the Allies thousands of lives and deprived them of resources that could have been better used elsewhere. You can take on the role of German commander von Lettow and his experienced askaris and fight against the Allied forces from the Commonwealth, Belgium and Portugal. Feel like the heroes of The African Queen as you play through this exotic campaign.

This game covers the most famous and longest colonial campaign of the First World War, with the German Imperial forces in East Africa and their Entente opponents. The heavily outnumbered Germans successfully waged a guerrilla war and suffered no major defeats, tying the British Empire, Belgium and Portugal to a pointless theatre of war until late November 1918.

The Ostafrika 1914 scenario lasts 53 turns, each representing approximately 1 month of real time (September 1914 to November 1918). The Entente Allies and the German Imperial Forces fight in East Africa.

The game has 7 scenarios, each lasting one year (1914 to 1918), one after the other, there are scenarios with a medium-sized campaign (starting in 1916) and a full grand campaign, covering the entire war.

The Entente receives large reinforcements, but their commanders are not so skilled and suffer loss after loss in skirmishes with the elusive enemy, trying not to give the fighters dangerous tasks in order to use them at a more necessary stage of the war.
