Episode Shadow Gambit: Zagan’s Ritual introduces a new questline to the game Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. It introduces a new playable character, Zagan the Renegade, a mysterious new island, and a gripping story that unfolds over six quests.

• Play as a new character with dark powers: Recruit Zagan the Renegade to join your cursed crew. A brilliant and ruthless scholar, formerly a high-ranking member of the Inquisition, he is a prognosticator tormented by an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Touched by both the Curse and the Maiden’s Flame, he wields dark powers that are both powerful and unstable, which he uses against his enemies with fierce determination. Use his cursed black hand to implant twisted energies into the minds of his enemies and extract their soul energy, or swing his mighty staff to entangle an enemy in twisted Maiden’s Flame, pinning them in place and eliminating them.  
• Explore an island with a sinister castle: Visit Zagan’s Lair on a mysterious new island in the Dark Caribbean, shrouded in darkness and mystery. Horror and the unknown, coupled with a creepy Gothic castle, create a very unsettling atmosphere on this island. Here, Zagan the Renegade works on his secret experiment.  
• Uncover the Mystery of the Maiden’s Flame: Experience a dark story unfolding in Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew – across six missions in the Dark Caribbean. Join Zagan the Renegade as he invites the cursed crew of the Red Marley on a dangerous adventure to complete a terrifying experiment. What is Zagan’s goal? To harness the very essence of the Maiden’s Flame – a soul-consuming fire used by the Inquisition against the Damned. Can you uncover the corrupted nature of this closely guarded mystery of the Inquisition?  
• Integration into the main game: The new characters and island from the expansion fit well with the main game. Once unlocked, you can begin playing the Shadow Gambit: Zagan’s Ritual episode, as well as recruit Zagan the Renegade to your cursed pirate crew after completing the Fruits of Her Labor quest on Dreadroot Cove (available after reviving the first three characters). Once unlocked, you can begin Zagan’s story at any time, and take him along on any mission in the main game.
